Jaci Velasquez
Jacquelyn Davette Velasquez (Jaci) was born in October 15th, 1979 in Houston, Texas. She began singing almost when she started to pronounce her first words, and in public with whe began to walk. At 23-years old, Jaci Velasquez is one of the world's most successful and beloved pop/ballad singers. For proof, look no further than her two Latin Grammy® nominations, three Grammy® Nominations, five Latin Billboard Award nominations, six Dove Awards and her win for Female Pop Album of the Year at the Latin Billboard Awards. She has sold over four million albums, garnered three RIAA certified Platinum recordings, sixteen #1 radio hits and more than 50 magazine covers.
Jaci Velasquez began her career at 14, singing with her family in Houston. With her first Spanish-Language album "Llegar a Ti" and her record-breaking "Heavenly Place", Jaci, of Mexican, French and Spanish ancestry, surpassed the expectations of many, becoming a new and imposing presence in Latin pop and Christian music.

Recorded between Miami and Nashville, Velaquez's second Spanish album, "Mi Corazon", was released in May 2001. The album gathered some of the Latin music industry's most important record producers, including Rudy Perez, Desmond Child, Emilio Estefan Jr., and Alejandro Jan. Velasquez also released Christmas albums in Spanish and English in 2001 and the inspirational "Crystal Clear" in 2000.

Her eighth album, "Unspoken", an English album recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles and Miami, boasts a high-profile lineup of producers including Matthew Gerrard (Nick Carter, BB Mack, Plus One), Tommy Sims (Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, India Arie, Amy Grant), and Emilio Estefan (Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Ricky Martin). Velásquez co-wrote seven of the twelve songs on the album, and produced one cut, "Your Friend," along with her band members. Velasquez takes a bold new stride in "Unspoken" released on March 25th, 2004 on the Warner Brothers/Word Entertainment label.

Velasquez's talent captured not only the attention of music lovers, but that of Hollywood as well. She started in her first film, "Chasing Papi" (20th Century Fox) which was released on April 16th. This comedy revolves around three desperate women who discover they have something in common... the irresistible man who has been dating all three of them. Her ninth album "Milagro", in Spanish, was released by Sony Discos on April 1st, 2004. This album includes the self-written title track to "Chasing Papi" (No Hace Falta Un Hombre/I Don't Need A Man), which was also released in English, on the film's soundtrack. To further solidify Jaci Velasquez's rising star, Pepsi chose her to be their new Latin spokesperson. In addition, Jaci started her own record company 'Apostrophe Records towards the end of 2004.

Why 'Apostrophe?
Because "It means ‘adding to’ or the possessive of something. In this case, to me, it meant that as a label we weren’t going try to change an artist or what their ministry was about, we wanted to add to what they were already doing, to help them expand their ministry and reach more people with their music." - Jaci Velasquez.

Michael Cook was 'Apostrophe Record first artist with his debut "Imprint" released on January 25th, 2005. Luke Caldwell, Steven Harder, Tony Caruso and Nolan Mather--better known as Grand Prize are the first 'Apostrophe Records rock band. Their music has a fresh sound that’s being compared to current hit makers Switchfoot and Jeremy Camp.

May 3rd, 2005 Jaci releases "Beauty Has Grace". The album consisted of 10 amazing songs. Including the single "With All My Soul" and others like "Tonight" and "When You Hold me". Lyrically, the songs on Beauty Has Grace reflected Velasquez’s Christian background and positive outlook. The songs encompass a lot of things which are meaningful to her. It’s a circular record about what loving God, and His love for us, is all about.

Despite a decade's worth of top-selling albums and chart-topping hits, there was yet to be a best of collection from Jaci. In May 9th, 2006 she released "On My Knees; The Best of Jaci Velasquez". The album consists of 19 tracks including bonus song On My Knees (Spanglish Version).

Jaci Velasquez vowed to harmonize for life with Salvador lead singer Nic Gonzalez on December 17, 2006 as the couple were united before God during a ceremony held in Austin, Texas. Jaci gave birth to her first child -- a son -- on Saturday, November 3rd on 7:02 a.m. Zealand David weighed 7 pounds.

March 18th, 2008 marks the release of “Love Out Loud,” Jaci’s 13th record and debut release on her self-owned Apostrophe Records. Jaci teamed up with longtime friend and producer of her first three records, Mark Heimermann, to make what promises to be her best record to date. Velasquez’s growth as a songwriter is evident on “Love Out Loud” as she co-wrote the majority of the songs.

Jaci is currently partnering with both Compassion and Feed the Children in an effort to put her words into action and “Love Out Loud.”
